Making Things Simple

Frequently Asked Questions

We know plumbing and heating can feel confusing, so we’ve put together some clear answers to help you feel confident about your property. For tailored advice, our engineers are always ready to help.

Do you work evenings or weekends?

No — our regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm.

This allows us to maintain high standards, reliable scheduling, and full availability for planned appointments.

If you’d like to book a visit or discuss your requirements, please call us on 07747 851 043 and we’ll be happy to arrange a convenient time.

How often should I service my boiler?

We recommend servicing your boiler once a year.

An annual service ensures it’s running safely, efficiently, and in line with manufacturer guidelines, which also helps keep your warranty valid.

Regular servicing can also spot small problems before they turn into costly repairs.

What should I do if I have a burst pipe?

If you experience a burst pipe, act fast to minimise damage:

  1. Locate your stopcock (usually under the kitchen sink) and turn off your mains water supply.

  2. If safe to do so, switch off your central heating system.

  3. Open taps to drain any remaining water from the system.

  4. Move valuable items away from the leak to prevent water damage.

Once the immediate steps are done, call us on 07747 851 043.

What should I do if my boiler loses pressure?

Boiler pressure is important for keeping your heating and hot water working efficiently. Most boilers operate best at 1–1.5 bar of pressure. If your gauge shows low pressure:

  • Check your boiler manual for instructions on topping up using the filling loop.
  • After topping up, monitor the gauge — if the pressure keeps dropping, there may be a leak, a faulty part, or an issue with the expansion vessel.

Low pressure can cause your heating to run poorly or shut down completely, so if topping up doesn’t solve the problem, contact us for a professional inspection and repair.
